After university, Bret was employed by AGT (Alberta Government Telephones) as an EIT (Engineer In Training), and then migrated to the Information Systems area. Through his 19 years with AGT, he become a 2nd level manager in various areas within the Finance and IT areas.

Bret and Mary-Ann's first house was 35 Gainsborough Avenue, in St. Albert, purchased in late 1976. Jody was born in the spring of 1977. Nicole was born in the fall of 1978. Our home was about a block from Grandparents Lyle & Marie, so the children saw them frequently.

In 1981, the family moved to Calgary - 120 Lynnview Road, SE. when Bret was transferred by AGT.

In 1989, the family moved to Sherwood Park - 25 Coachman Terrace, when Bret was transferred back to Edmonton by AGT.

In 1995, the family moved to St. Albert - 128 Goodridge Drive.

After leaving AGT in 1994, Bret then became a partner in a medical software startup company. After 7 years with Cybernius, Bret joined Nason Contracting Group - first as a consultant, then as a partner.

When Nason was sold to Bird Construction in January, 2013, Bret became an employee in their corporate IT area. He retired in December, 2015.

Recently (Summer, 2018), we initiated the process to migrate to Australia. We intend to live on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne, Victoria.
